Join us at the San Benito County Free Library on March 19, 2025, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM for a powerful evening exploring contemporary Indigenous culture with Kirti Bassendine. This special program will feature a 30-minute documentary screening followed by a Q&A session with the presenter.
Kirti Bassendine’s work sheds light on the resilience, traditions, and evolving identities of Indigenous peoples today. Through her photography and storytelling, she amplifies the voices of Native communities and raises awareness about their histories, struggles, and ongoing contributions.
This event acknowledges and honors the lands and histories of the Association of Ramaytush Ohlone, the Confederated Villages of Lisjan, Muwekma Ohlone Tribe of the San Francisco Bay Area, Tamien Nation, Indian Canyon Chualar Tribe of the Costanoan-Ohlone People, Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, the Rumsen Ohlone Tribal Community, Esselen Tribe of Monterey County, the Salinan Tribe of San Luis Obispo and Monterey Counties, and the Salinan T’rowt’raahl tribal community.
