Read eBooks for free at the San Benito County Free Library!

The San Benito County Free Library would like to invite county residents to take advantage of its eBook collections offered through OverDrive, Enki, and Project Gutenberg.  Borrowing eBooks using these services is free with a library card, and each collection offers something for different tastes.

OverDrive features popular titles including bestselling fiction such as The Martian by Andy Weir and bestselling nonfiction such as The Wright Brothers by David McCullough.

Enki offers eBooks from smaller and independent publishers, while Project Gutenberg’s collections link patrons to eBooks available in the public domain, such as works by Shakespeare.

Many of these collections also contain titles in other languages like Spanish, and the library’s OverDrive collection will specifically be adding more materials in Japanese in the near future. The library’s eBook collections can be accessed from most internet-connected mobile devices, and because borrowed titles will automatically expire when their lending period is over, there are no late fees.

Those who need help with using eBooks can take advantage of free technical assistance offered through the library. Appointments can be made by calling the library at (831) 636-4107.
