Books-To-Go, Curbside Library Service

On June 2nd, 2020 the San Benito County Free Library began offering Books-To-Go, our contactless curbside pickup service for our patrons. The following steps will help ensure we continue the quality of service our community has become accustomed to, while maintaining the safety needed during this difficult time.

Step 1: Place your holds.

Library customers must search online for their requested materials using the Library catalog Those who do not have internet access can place items on hold by calling the Library at (831) 636-4107.

Step 2: Staff gets your stuff ready.

Library staff will pull materials requests daily from the shelves and call customers back to let them know their materials are ready for pick-up.

Step 3: Pick up your materials.

Library customers may pick up their materials by sending a text message to the Library at (831) 613-8010; this alerts Library staff to place the checked out items on our dedicated Requested Materials table, located just outside the front entrance of the Library. If unable to text, be sure to knock on the door. Although the Library may be physically closed, Library staff members are still here to serve you!

Step 4: Return your materials.

Our book drops will be unlocked during business hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 5 pm. All returned items are quarantined and cleaned after 3 days, so returning materials by the due date is essential for access to others. Any fines accrued during the pandemic will be waived.
