The San Benito County Free Library located at 470 5th Street in Hollister is expanding the hours of operation. We are thrilled that starting Saturday, February 4, 2017, the library will be opening on Saturdays from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
The increase in library hours was made possible through the use of self-check machines that are available to the public. This new library technology was obtained through collaboration between: the County of San Benito, Friends of the Library, and Community Foundation for San Benito County.
On Mondays until April 9th a group of volunteers will be at the library providing free tax assistance! Please see the flyers below for more information:
On evening of December 8th, the San Benito County Free Library (SBCFL) hosted our 10th Annual Holiday Program. Activities at this year’s celebration included a special guest appearance by Santa Claus, movies, crafts and a free book for every child. Despite the rain families lined up to take their picture with Santa Claus, get an apple and a free book. Others made holiday ornaments or watched Dr. Seuss’ how the Grinch stole Christmas movie before visiting Santa.
We’d like to thank everyone who braved the weather to make this a great event and extend a special thank you to the Friends of the San Benito County Free Library, the Student Nutrition Department for the Hollister School District, Liz Morales Photography and all the volunteers who gave generously of their time and energy so that the Library was able to provide this fun event to San Benito County families.
Happy Holidays and we hope to see you at the library soon!
